MEMORIAL DAY FIELD OF MEMORIES TO HONOR MILITARY, COMMUNITY SERVICE HEROES, FAMILY MEMBERS,AND FRIENDS WITH HOLIDAY WEEKEND FLAG DISPLAY

Wouldn’t you like to honor someone special in a unique way this Memorial Day? Whether in honor or in memory of a family member, special friend, community leader, or a current or past member of the Armed Forces, your donation will designate a flag in our Field of Memories and will feature a 4” x 6” identification card with room for your message of commemoration.  The Hampton Inn Col Alto will host the flag and identification cards displays on their lawn over the Memorial Day weekend.

The three-by-five-foot flags will fly around the clock from the afternoon of May 26 through May 29 at 5 p.m.  A short Memorial Day program will be held at the display May 29 at 4:30 p.m.

A project of the Lexington Sunrise Rotary Club, the “Memorial Day Field of Memories” also will raise funds for the club’s many community service projects and financial support of local charitable organizations. A $50 donation will place a flag, with a placard attached describing the honoree, in what promises to be a dramatic patriotic display.

It is an opportunity to honor those living and past who served our country and community and touched our lives, as well as to honor non-military family and friends who have given of themselves and influenced our lives.”

Creating a spectacular holiday sight for passersby, flags-placards will be assigned a grid location and cross-referenced by name, so that visitors to the display can tour the memorials and reflect on those honored.
